Fuijara

The fujara is the Slovakian shepards flute , for centuries it has maintained royal status among the folk musical instruments of Slovakia.

Traditionally made totally by hand from deciduous trees (elder tree, maple tree). ItŐs a typical folk instrument and itŐs native home is a small region in central Slovakia, called Zvolenska country. The Fujara belongs to the solo-instruments. It consists of two main-parts; a whistle pipe and an air-pipe and there are only three holes for finger playin

g This overtone air-sound instrument has a soft colored sound, that involves shriller tones by playing "scatter" on the beginning of the song and gentle round sustained notes with long sustain.,

Every "fujara" is an unique creative work of art - an original.

ItŐs also beautifully decorated and it can take up to one month to build a good Fujara."
