Yasmine Amal, a multi-talented percussionist and accomplished studio musician, plays an assortment of hand percussion and drums. Featuring the African udu and ceramic drums of her own creation, her style is based on the North African and Middle Eastern traditions of dumbec and darbouka drumming with flavours of Jamaican Nyahbinghi and Cuban Yoruba. Yasmine has performed and recorded with a number of well respected roots artists including Yabby You and Dub Central , Kaliroots and has studied with renowned Cuban percussionist Augustine Gomez.
